D20 Future Adventure for 11/13/05
Jason - "Rygel", Phoenix Agent, sent to planet Edom because Phoenix computers indicated a probably of something signifigant happening in the region. Details sketchy. Cover as an alien antiquities dealer. Charted Passage to Edom on the the light Freighter Excalibur.
James - "Spock" SSB agent sent investigate report that a Phoenix agent would be traveling to Edom. On charter flight on the Excalibur mission is to identify possible persons of interest to be arrested and interogated on docking with spaceport in Edom. Cover as a realistate barron looking for investments on Edom.
David - "David T. Kirk", commander of the Excaliber. Owes money to crime boss. Crime boss indicates that someone who has been tipping off Confleet about the boss's smuggling activities will be traveling on board. A phoney distress call will come from the mining planet Franklen while the Excalibur is en-route to Edom. David will respond to the signal and drop the passengers off on Franklen, where his Crime boss will take care of the rest. Then David's debt is paid.

The Adventure
Meet at bar and negotiate terms. All three go to space dock. David confronts "tech" jumping down off his ship. Tech says that he was checking the license of the Excaliber. Spock, who is observing, decides the tech is lying and goes for a leg shot. Spocks pistol fires explosives rounds, so he scored the leg hit but tech died of the wound. Alarms sound. Three run to Excalibur. Port Authority arrives. Spock fires a warning round with Excaliber's blaster, causing major damage. Rygel wirelessly tapes into the network and temporarily disables the alarm. David does some great flying and manages to escape from Isten's space port. When approaching the stargat Excalibur told to divert and wait to be boarded. David decides to power throught the gate. They start taking fire. Spock activates his SSB communication device and the base near the stargate ceases fire. David takes the Excalibur through the gate.
Once through the gate a fighter seems to be tailing them. They receive a distress call, but it isn't quiet the distress call David was expecting, but responds anyway. Fighter that is tailing goes flying by them and enters dimensional travel right near them, causing the Excalibur damage. On a whim Rygel checks for bombs on the ship, and finds one near the Excalibur's impulse drives. Spock disarms the bomb, pretty good feat for a realistate guy.
Land on the planet next to a ConFleet Marine Troop carrier. They hear weird sounds. Rygel gets a mysterious sense that something is watching them. They leave the ship. David almost abandons them, but decides to go along. Spock suspected something and kept a bead on him. They investigate the Marine troop ship and find a badly wounded marine in shock trying to shoot them with a depleted blaster. Jason does some sensor sweeps and determines that something is out there. Vaguely picks up something bending light and moving quickly. Marine recovers and appears full of attitude and delerious. Tries to take Spock's pistol. Spock almost shoots Marine. Spock takes marine to automated medical bed. Marine is fixed enough to walk, and Spock indicates that he is the marines superior and an SSB agent. Marine recovers. Meanwhile David looks out a portal. Confronted by Alien face, looks like generatically altered hairless lion with grey skin. Smiles at David. Rygel ups the power on the scanners and scans the alien. Alien screams and retreats, apparently taking damage. From inside the marine transport David hears pieces of the Excalibur being thrown out on the landing dock. Spock blows the lock of a small arms weapons locker and the crew gains access to a grenade launcher and some other small arms.
Crew decided to make a run for it to a habitat dome near the landing pad. Detected a life form that could be a survivor in the habit dome. Hear the alien. Explosive device detonates on the catwalk from the dock to the habitat, injuring David and Rygel. Enter the dome, check out life sign which is coming from a vent in the ceiling. Marine ordered forward. Voice says "help me". Life form in vent is alien, and attacks marine. Crew opens fire on vent but alien is heavily shielded and particle and missile weapons deflected. Then Rygel senses alien is entering into the habitat behind them. Marine gets lucky and nails alien in vent. Crew unloads and makes sure it is dead. Front door of habitat opens and figure appears. David blasts figure. Spock fires a grenade. Blows front of the hab out, but manages to kill alien...
Time runs out, adventure ends.

Loose ends. Crew sent by David's crime boss shows up kill everybody. Shoot out. More aliens appear. Rygel activates device that calls the Phoenix. Phoenix rescues party, Spock and David recruited as agents of the Phoenix and gain new feats. Excalibur destroyed, new ship issued by Phoenix.
